This is the lovely pie I made on Sunday instead of a roast. Its sounds odd but was very tasty. Its steak and pickled onion. I originally saw it on a cookery program called “the best” where 2 chefs ansd one cook compete for the best of each category. The recipe eluded me for ages but I finally found it without forking (hohoho) out for the book from the landcroft house blog Very tasty only letdown – no cabbage, it all looked a bit ropey in the supermarket, I could have got up early with my basket and gone to the market but I’m not that energetic! next time I might go as far as making bubble and squeak ( I live life in the fast lane!).
